The advantage is that an organization can cast a net far and wide and snag the talent of Casey Gilbert who provided phenomenal coordination in a virtual space. Over the course of several months, Casey helped our coalition distill our mission, identify guiding principles and formulate a work plan and budget for the first year of operation. She effortlessly coordinated a community input survey, one-on-one stakeholder interviews, and focus groups with community players. She kept our Steering Committee focused and each meeting was purposeful and moved us toward the outcome.
Our grassroots homeless coalition is now poised to file as a non-profit organization with a governing board and executive director. We would not be where we are today without Casey's deft guidance and support."
